The Flipped Math Classroom
With the model with the initial content delivered by the computer the instructor can deliver targeted instruction to students one-on-one or in small groups; help those who struggle; and, challenge those who have mastered the content. This model provides students in larger classes a small class experience. The instructor is now able to spend more time focused on discussions extending the mathematical dialogue to previous background knowledge or other subject areas. Consequently, the instructor has the opportunity to foster a deeper level of quality mathematical understanding and discourse. |
